The Intermezzo Quartet was founded in 1994. We are a traditional string quartet consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello, and play with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Beloit-Janesville Symphony. Our quartet includes string teachers, who maintain private studios in the Madison area. We rehearse together regularly throughout the year and play for many weddings, receptions, parties, and other functions. Our repertoire consists primarily of classical music by such composers as Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, Bach, and Corelli, but we also play popular selections as well as Irish and Jewish music.
