NRO那才叫音乐

真是一次很难得的成长经历,祝贺mifi兄的女儿,这也是mifi兄教女有方的结果!恳请mifi兄有暇多给介绍介绍令嫒在国外学习的情况,从东西方不同的思维习惯学习习惯的角度谈谈,我想对国内的家长会有很大的帮助!当然如果能够有令嫒在美学习生活的亲身感悟之类的文章对我们更是不胜之喜!

以音乐带出技术,我想这就是美国音乐教育的主流思维吧,而国内是先把基本功练好的主流思维,可能受前苏联影响较大的缘故吧,不能说哪种方式肯定就对而另一种方式肯定就错,我想两者没有对错之分。这个问题好象唯物主义和唯心主义的争论那样,似乎也并没有对错之分,不同角度观察世界因而可能得出不同的结论。也象光的波粒二象性那样,以往是长期争论不休的局面,但爱因斯坦认为光既是波,也是粒,时段看是波,瞬间看是粒,这样来综合认识,而不是偏激的认识,就终结了长期的争论局面,爱因斯坦也因此获诺贝尔奖。

我把今年NRO小提琴队员的介绍转录过来,共28人:

Naha Greenholtz, Co-Concertmaster
THE KATE AND JAMES TAUCHER CHAIR
Naha Greenholtz made her solo debut at age 14 with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She was appointed Associate Concertmaster of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007 and was a member of the first violin section in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She has performed frequently with the Cleveland Orchestra, and as guest Concertmaster of the Madison Symphony Orchestra and the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a graduate of  the Concertmaster Academy at the Cleveland Institute of Music with William Preucil.


Jeffrey Myers, Co-Concertmaster
THE LAURIE AND TERRY BARR CHAIR
Jeffrey Myers studies with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles where he recently received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance. His past teachers include Mary Irwin and Paul Kantor. Jeffrey has performed concertos by Mendelssohn and Bruch as a soloist with the Colburn Orchestra and also serves as one of the orchestra’s concertmasters. He has spent the past six summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School.


Anne Ku, Assistant Concertmaster
THE GRETCHEN AND JOHN SWIFT CHAIR
Violinist Anne Ku has received numerous prizes and honors, including first prize in the American Fine Arts Festival Bach Concerto Competition, the Temple University Preparatory Concerto Competition, and the 2009 South Orange Symphony Young Artists Competition. She was also a finalist in the 2007 Philadelphia Orchestra Greenfield Competition. Last summer, Anne was one of nineteen young artists who attended the Taos School of Music. Anne currently studies with Robert Mann at The Juilliard School.


Andy Liang, Assistant Concertmaster
THE BILL AND PAM ADAMS CHAIR
Andy Liang recently completed his junior year as an undergraduate at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where he studies with Cho-Liang Lin. Andy is from Vancouver, Washington and has been a soloist with the Oregon Symphony on three occasions and was The Chamber Music Northwest’s Young Artist Fellow in 2004. Andy was also a national finalist in the MTNA Junior String Competition and was featured on the “From the Top” radio program in 2004.


Ann Fink, Co-Principal Second
THE THOMAS AND KATHLEEN FINGLETON CHAIR
In 2005 Ann received her Bachelor of Music degree from Juilliard. Ann remained at Juilliard until receiving her Masters of Music degree in May of 2007. Ann is a certified Suzuki Violin teacher and has worked as violin faculty at the Preparatory Center at Brooklyn College, Lucy Moses School, and the Music Institute of Long Island. This April Ann finished her Performer Diploma studies at Indiana University while studying with Alex Kerr. In September of 2011 Ann will join the New World Symphony.


Yun-Ting Lee, Co-Principal Second
THE JANE BARBER CHAIR
Violinist Yun-Ting Lee received his B.M. and M.M. from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), where he received the Dr. Bennett Levine Memorial Award in Chamber Music. His principal teachers include William Preucil, David Cerone, and David Updegraff. He has appeared as soloist with the Phoenix Symphony, CIM orchestra, and Music Academy of the West orchestra. Yun-Ting has also served as concertmaster for the Spoleto Festival USA orchestra.


Kristin Bakkegard
THE REGINALD AND PAMELA GRAY CHAIR
Kristin Bakkegard currently attends Ithaca College, where she is pursuing her BM in Violin Performance. This past year, she was awarded the Concertmaster position in Ithaca College’s highest ensemble, the Ithaca College Chamber Orchestra, for a semester, and then Principal Second for a semester. The past two summers, she attended the Brevard Music Center and the Banff Centre. She has also served in the first violin section of the Orchestra of the Southern Fingerlakes, in Corning, New York.


Emily Botel-Barnard
THE BRIAR ROSE CHOPHOUSE AND SALOON CHAIR
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Emily Botel-Barnard earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she studied with David Updegraff and Linda Cerone. She has participated at various summer festivals including, the International Music Academy Pilsen, the National Orchestral Institute, the Banff Music and Sound Festival, and Spoleto USA. Emily is currently studying with Ian Swensen while pursuing a Master of Music degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.


Bonnie Brown
THE SKI VILLAGE RESORTS CHAIR
Bonnie just completed her M.A. in Violin Performance at the University of Iowa; she also holds double Bachelor of Music degrees in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from the University of New Mexico. She has performed in music festivals in Italy, Brazil, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. Bonnie is a member of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra in Davenport, Iowa. Along with playing, listening, and experiencing music Bonnie enjoys a good cup of coffee, being outside, reading and exploring.


Xiang Fang
THE HELEN M. HARRISON FOUNDATION CHAIR
Xiang Fang, born in ChangSha, China, began her professional studies in the middle school attached to the Central Conservatory with Professor Wei Zhao. In 2009, Xiang won the first prize in the chamber music category and the third prize in the Piazzolla category of the “Castelfidardo” international competition in Italy. In 2010, Xiang received a full scholarship from the Oberlin Conservatory. Currently Xiang is a freshman at Oberlin Conservatory and is a student of Professor Marilyn McDonald.


Rachel Fellows
THE BRECKENRIDGE HOSPITALITY CHAIR
Rachel Fellows, a native of Oklahoma, began her musical studies with the violin at the age of 3. She recently graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied with Kevin Lawrence. Rachel will be continuing her studies there in the fall for graduate work. Rachel frequently performs with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, and Signature Symphony Orchestra of Tulsa. This will be Rachel’s second season with the National Repertory Orchestra.


Lisa Goddard
THE LAURIE AND WILLIAM BOLTHOUSE CHAIR
Lisa Goddard recently completed Bachelor’s degrees in music and biology at Oberlin College and Conservatory, and will begin a Master of Music degree at the New England Conservatory this fall. With the Oberlin Orchestra, Lisa served as assistant concertmaster and principal second violin, went on tour to China and Singapore, and performed at Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Lisa’s primary teachers include Lucy Chapman, Marilyn McDonald, David Bowlin, and William Starr.


Marina Seo-Hee Han
THE SCHWIER CHARITABLE FUND CHAIR
Marina began playing the violin in Korea at the age of eight. She studied with renowned pedagogue David Zafer in Toronto prior to completing her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at McGill University from the studio of Denise Lupien. She has attended various music festivals such as ENCORE School for Strings, Aspen Music Festival and Kent/Blossom. Marina is pursuing a Master of Music degree at Carnegie Mellon University on a full scholarship studying with Andrés Cárdenes.


Hillary Hempel
THE VICTOR C. LAUGHLIN FOUNDATION CHAIR
Hillary Hempel will be a senior at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles, California where she studies with Robert Lipsett. She was a winner of the National Foundation of Advancement in the Arts in 2008 and won a number of concerto competitions in high school, receiving opportunities to solo with orchestras throughout the Chicago area. In previous summers, she attended Aspen Music Festival. Hillary loves collaborating in chamber and orchestral music, as well as a soloist.


Nayoung Kim
THE BRECKENRIDGE ASSOCIATES REAL ESTATE CHAIR
Nayoung Kim started studying violin with her aunt when she was in elementary school. She then attended Yewon Middle School and Seoul Arts High School. After high school she attended Sookmyung Women’s University and after graduation joined The Seoul National Orchestra. She currently studies with Yuri Mazurkevich at Boston University.


Sodam Kim
THE FIRSTBANK OF SUMMIT COUNTY CHAIR
Violinist Sodam Kim began her violin studies at the age of twelve, and her primary teachers include Daniel Kobialka of the San Francisco Symphony, renowned violinists Ilya Kaler, and Yuri Mazurkevich. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music from DePaul University in Chicago and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Boston University. Her recent orchestral engagements include performing with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra.

Christina Knudson
THE GRAND TIMBER LODGE CHAIR
Violinist, Christina Knudson has held leadership positions in both California State University, Long Beach and San Francisco Conservatory orchestras and has participated in the National Orchestral Institute and the Hot Springs Festival. While in Hot Springs, she recorded for the Naxos Label and soloed with the Festival Orchestra. Ms. Knudson has performed at chamber music festivals including Summit and Zephyr Music Festivals. While at Zephyr, she toured various stages throughout northern Italy and the Swiss Alps.


Filip Lazovski

THE PAT AND JACK THOMAS CHAIR
Violinist Filip Lazovski was born in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Oleh Krysa. Filip also studied with Edward Dusinberre (Takács String Quartet) at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Filip has given solo and chamber music recitals in Macedonia and the US, and has won numerous prizes and awards. Recently, Filip received a Master in Chamber Music from Kent State University, where he studied with the Miami String Quartet.


Peiyun Lee
THE SUSAN COLEMAN AND BETH SCANNELL / HEIDER TRUST CHAIR
Peiyun Lee was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan. She is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance at The University of  Wisconsin-Madison, studying with Felicia Moye and holds a Masters Degree in Violin Performance from The Boston Conservatory with Irina Muresanu. Ms. Lee has performed in master classes for Lawrence Dutton, Samuel Rhodes and Joel Krosnick. Also, she is a founding member of The Kendalwood String Quartet, performing frequent recitals in the Madison area.


Janet Lyu
THE BARRY AND WENDY MEYER FOUNDATION CHAIR
Janet Lyu is a fresh graduate of the University of Michigan. Under the tutelage of Mr. Stephen Shipps, she will continue at UM for her Master of  Music degree this fall. Ms. Lyu’s main passion lies in playing orchestral music. She was a member of the University Symphony Orchestra with conductor Kenneth Kiesler at UM and is a proud alumnus of the premier Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.


Minhye Park
THE WELLS FARGO BANK CHAIR
Minhye studied at Sunhwa High School of Arts and graduated from Kyung Won University in Korea. She is currently a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, where she studies under Andres Cardenes. She hopes to broaden her outlook through studying abroad and become a professional who knows how to paint a bigger picture. She would like to teach the fun and beauty of music to the children of the future and become a great educator who can enrich children through music.


Rebecca Pernicano
Rebecca first expressed interest in the violin at the age of 6 when she entered elementary school. She graduated in May 2009, with a Bachelor’s of  Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Rebecca began studying with Andres Cardenes in August 2009, at Carnegie Mellon University, where she was accepted with full merit scholarship, and in May 2011 she completed her Master’s in Violin Performance.


Erin Phelps Reidhead
Violinist Erin Phelps Reidhead, from Frederick, Maryland, studies at the Cleveland Institute of  Music with Stephen Rose, principal second violin of the Cleveland Orchestra. She made her solo debut at age 15 with the Frederick Symphony and has since been featured with several orchestras in the D.C. area. In past summers, she has participated in the Bowdoin and Banff summer festivals and the ENCORE School for Strings. She is a registered Suzuki teacher.


Melanie Riordan
THE BONNIE KIRSCHENBAUM CHAIR
Melanie Riordan was born in New Rochelle, New York and began the violin at age 10. Throughout High School Melanie participated in the New York All-State Orchestra and attended the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College. She obtained her Bachelors in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with pedagogue Cyrus Forough. She is now pursuing a Masters Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada where she studies with Violinist Jonathan Crow.


Janis Sakai
THE KERR FOUNDATION CHAIR
As a violinist, Janis Sakai has performed orchestral, chamber music, and solo works internationally. Janis received her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the University of Denver and is studying with Violinist, Yumi Hwang-Williams. She has been chosen to perform in master classes for Ruggerio Ricci, Midori, Yo-Yo Ma and members of the Silk Road Ensemble, and Pinchas Zuckerman. Janis is currently a substitute violinist with the New World Symphony. This is her second year with the NRO.


Kathryn Schwarzmann
Kathryn Schwarzmann began playing the violin at age ten and studied with Mrs. Bernadette Schaefer. She played as concertmaster of the Lutheran Summer Music Orchestra and the North Park University Orchestra. She placed first in North Park University Concerto Competition and Dubuque Concerto Competition and was given the opportunity to solo with the Dubuque Symphony. Kathryn studied with Mr. Charles Pikler and Mr. David Yonan and currently studies with Mrs. Almita Vamos at Northwestern University.


Johna Smith
Johna Smith is a scholarship student at Indiana University where she studies with Jorja Fleezanis. Johna received her Bachelor of Music degree from Vanderbilt University, where she studied with Cornelia Heard and was awarded the Presser Award, Keller-Heard Prize, Moennig Scholarship, Founder’s Medal and graduated first in her class. She has held the positions of Concertmaster, and Assistant Concertmaster with The Vanderbilt Orchestra, and attended The Aspen Music Festival, where she received a full fellowship. Johna, a semi-finalist for New World Symphony, plays in The Indiana University Philharmonic and several regional orchestras.


Eva Trigueros
Eva Trigueros was born in El Salvador. In 1999 she moved to Costa Rica where she studied with the Russian professor Lev Markman. Following these studies she was accepted with full scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy. In 2004 Mrs. Trigueros joined the Costa Rican National Symphony. In 2006 she continued her studies with the distinguished professor Dylana Jenson at GVSU. Eva completed her Master’s studies this past May from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the instruction of Prof. Bettina Mussumeli.

加拉米安在《小提琴演奏与教学的原则》的前言中说:“世界上有许多小提琴演奏学派……”

的确如此。都是学音乐的,音乐和音乐不一样;都是学小提的,师承和流派不同,可能完全是俩回事。老毛子觉得他们出了大卫王、出了米尔斯坦出了海大师,认为他们是最好的;米国人可能觉得他们有朱莉娅有柯蒂斯,有帕尔曼祖克曼德国比利时荷兰人则可能自顾自的玩儿着HIP,赞美着上帝……

只可惜我们学毛子只学到些皮毛。想想这也怪不了那些老师,他们很多人原本自己就不明白,才认认真真往错了教,才有了民族音乐西洋化,才有了二胡拉巴赫,真TM扯淡啊!

早期(文艺复兴)音乐是安详的,巴洛克是均衡纯美的,欧洲古典主义是优雅端庄的,这些都是是闲情逸致和养尊处优的资产阶级情调。浪漫主义强调和发掘音乐的戏剧性,以冲突开始,以解决结束,最契合革命的过程,唯有浪漫主义可以充分迎合革命者和政治野心家的激昂和悲壮乃至暴力和决绝的特质。文艺要“为人民服务”,我们只要学老毛子的浪漫,而且只要皮毛就行,舒伯特那样真的浪漫却又是真的小布尔乔亚了……

其实,violin相比viol只是下里巴人……

》 呵呵!如果令嫒没有技术,我想也到不了Oberlin(不会反对吧),那么出去干嘛?去学“音乐!”技术和音乐同时进行老师也想怎么做,家长也想,但在国内,估计很难。说白了,在国内,练的就是技术。有时听专家课,同一曲目,老外讲得比咱们老师更细腻、透彻,生动,这很正常,古典音乐本来就是人家老外的,我们出去学习的目的也是如此。 去年无意中看到音乐台,杜梅在演奏梁祝,说实话,个人感觉,从味道上来讲,咱们一个初中生就可以PK掉这位大师,呵呵~~~你能说杜梅不如咱们的一个学生么???究其原因,大师不了解中国音乐,不了解梁祝,如果要拉好,建议大师也到中国来深造几年,多多了解梁祝的出处~~~呵呵~~~

从自己目前的认知来说,当然是认为音乐是引领技术的!但这个问题的确是仁者见仁智者见智,或许每个阶段所需要关注的重点不同吧!
